Jerome R. Crews appeals a sentence imposed upon violation of the probationary portion of a true split sentence. We affirm. If a trial court intends to impose the maximum period of imprisonment for a violation of the probationary portion of a true split sentence, it should impose the full original sentence of incarceration with credit for time served. Due to statutory changes effective in 1989, it is no longer advisable for a trial judge to impose only the suspended portion of the original sentence without credit for time served.
